On Saturday, February 3rd, the EMPACT-SPC’s Prevention Department held its annual 5K Walk/Run at Tempe Kiwanis Park to Support Survivors of Suicide – the 18th anniversary of this special event. Over 400 people were in attendance, including Survivors of Suicide, EMPACT-SPC staff, and community partners such as a local Starbucks who donated coffee to support the event. The Annual Walk/Run has been one way that Survivors can honor their loved ones who have died by suicide, as well as a way for EMPACT-SPC to raise community awareness about suicide prevention.
